About

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Leanne (Annie), I’m currently 35 years old with a German Shepherd named Marvel,

a Tabby kitten named Bucky (yes there is a theme here)

and a super wonderful boyfriend Fiance (2/10/18), Chris. We reside in Virginia Beach.

I decided to write this blog as motivation to reach my fitness and weight loss goals, share my passion for meditation/reiki/chakras, and just be open about my adventurous life with my family either around town or out traveling. Did I mention I am really big into travel and adventure? Well, it’s definitely one of my biggest passions in life to explore as much as possible. I also enjoy paddleboarding, hiking, game nights, and yoga. Hopefully soon I can add running to that list, but I’m currently in a love/hate relationship with it. I do have a blog on all of my adventures as well at Girl vs The Bucket List.

ON MY RUNNING

In 2015 I had a goal to run a race per month for the year.

I learned to love running a lot from it, but in September of 2015, with 3 races to go for the year, I broke my foot in a half marathon. I managed to finish that race and continue on with the last 3, but not without some major damage to my foot.

2016 and most of 2017 was spent healing it. Occasionally I still have some problems, but nothing that I can’t work through. However, it’s time to get back on the horse and redo this love for running again.

ON MY WEIGHT

Most of my life I have struggled with weight. In high school I was 200lbs (I’m 5’5).

During college I managed to lose 50lbs through weight watchers. In 2013 I managed to get to my lowest weight in preparation for my cosplay of Lara Croft for San Diego Comic Con. Yes, I’m a nerd.

I maintained this loss for a little over a year until some major life changes happened in 2014. Stress, and being placed on 7 rounds of antibiotics from a strep infection (which later resulted in surgery) caused me to gain a lot of weight and also develop an allergy to gluten. While I’m not even close to my highest weight, I could afford to lose 30+ pounds. So, join me on my journey as I dive into all of these aspects in my crazy, sometimes ordinary life.
